Today was one of those days where everything seemed to go awry. I picked up my little one from daycare just as a downpour began. The subway ride home was a soggy affair, with me trying to shield my child from the raindrops dripping from my umbrella.

Once we arrived home, I realized my little one was quite hungry. I hadn’t anticipated how much energy they had expended playing in the rain. A quick bowl of wontons later, they were happily slurping away.

It’s these unexpected moments that remind me to slow down and appreciate the little things. Even a rainy day can turn into a special memory.
